It's very simple to override the behavior of our "builtin" styles. Just
use the Modify Style item in the Document menu.
If you want to override the definition for multiple documents, it is
best to save the result back as a template. You should give your own
template name, rather than one of the predefined templates. You may
even want to make your new template the default.

Maybe this is REALLY reaching but how about...
If I understand things rightly you cannot override the builtin styles
that are part of DBT?
If this is true, might there be a way, probably in next release, to make
things so you can override the default behavior of the builtin styles
with ones or your own that would suit your needs?
If you can already override the default styles and their behaviors then
someone please correct my misunderstanding.

Importing Word'd hyperlink style to our own hyperlink style might be
more intuitive, but it wouldn't solve the problem.
Really, there are three problems. We've thus far only discussed one on
this thread.
We've discussed the fact that DBT indicates the underlining of the
hyperlink. At this time, there is a code change in review that will
eliminate this behavior. So all should be put to bed on that front
soon.
We haven't discussed the fact that DBT always uses the literary
indicator for emphasis, even though it is in CBC. I'm not sure that
we'll fix this for this round.
Nor have we discussed the fact that CBC isn't always appropriate for
hyperlinks. Many hyperlinks are written out as the text of the
desination of the link -- a URL -- which cries out for CBC. However, it
is also common to have hyperlinks that aren't really CBC at all. This
issue too is one that we will probably have to pass on fixing for now.
Indeed, because the task is not well-defined, I wouldn't even know how
to fix it to everybody's satisfaction. We could do better, but there
would always be some obvious mistakes and other issues about which
transcribers and users would probably not come to agreement.

OK. What are the rules Internationally regarding underlining Hyperlinks
in computer braille? Does ANY country demand that they show the
underlining?
My humble guess is that it is neither required nor wanted.
Of course the simple answer might be for Duxbury to create an actual
Hyperlink Style in DBT, and map Word's Hyperlink Style accordingly.
This would perhaps make more sense anyway, and be somewhat more
intuitive to anyone looking at Styles in DBT.

Susan, I understand what you are saying in response to my previous post
however, I do not believe that we should need to be altering the Word
hyperlink style.
Surely, DBT can be programmed to ignore the underlining of hyperlink
text when the text is within DBT set in the compinline codes. By doing
as you suggest and changing the hyperlink style within the Word template
would affect the visual look of all word documents and to my mind, this
would be completely unsatisfactory.
I hope this makes sense to programmers like Peter and Jo. I will be
interested to hear your responses.
