Even though I normally do a summary first and then the review, let me start by saying that last night was one of the best D&D nights we have had in some time. I had a total blast, and am thrilled that Keith was there to share it. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did. The summary won't be very long, but expect the review to be lengthy! The Riders first spent a little time going to rescue Karvas and Saurotte. They had been captured and imprisoned in an arena one some infernal plane. Escrima had located them, and Magnus sent a group out to rescue them. Quasit led Zolkiir, Carpathia, Baish and Escrima to this plane, where they encountered followers of Hextor. While they battled a giant creature outside, Saurotte and Karvas managed to free themselves from their imprisonment and join the battle against a priest of Hextor. The group overcame them, and then returned to Sigil with their two formerly missing members. Once back at the Inn, the group began to form their final strategy. Having the Tooth, they decided to seek out the planet themselves to gain the power they sought. Magnus led Zolkiir, Faceous, Karvas, Saurotte, Quasit, Baish, Gadget, Carpathia, Ambrosia and Mileena to find the Athar, where the portal to the world lay. They were accosted by some guards of the Athar and made short work of them, but were then ambushed by the original Amrikol and a new Black Legion! Amrikol and Iludriss led the attack, with Amrikol killing both Zolkiir and Quasit in the first round. Magnus soon stunned Amrikol, causing him to disappear under the effects of a Contingency spell. Talon soon showed up with Nibrodius (although apparently the original Nibrodius) and the party continued the battle. When they finally managed to fell those three members of the Black Legion, Amrikol reappeared with the Black Forrester and Marcus Drake. Again the party battled on, finally defeating them all. Dennis and Celane then appeared, and Celane knew the portal to the world. However, whoever went through first would be the one with the power to shape the world. She refused to let Magnus have that power, so he gave the Tooth to Dennis, and the Riders walked through on their way to godhood. Fade to white. Detailed review coming up!
