Yes, they were hooked normally. I had tried pairs reins but with none of us knowing what we were doing, that just didn't work. Then I tried Hungarian reins - much much better, but still too hard for our stage of learning. Two drivers helped it all come together. Maybe it was just dumb luck that we didn't have any safety issues! Now that we all have experience, we're back to pairs reins and one whip :)
