[drivingpairs] trailer design

Well, as a few know I started driving a pair last winter. So that meant I
needed a new horse trailer. I had a few issues to deal with. The size of my
yard and the access in and out of it. This limited the size of the trailer.
The items I want to haul to a horse show.
1. golf cart
2. carriage
3. 1-3 horses
4. stuff

So i went with an 18ft 8ft wide bumper pull stock trailer. With 3 horses
abreast in the back. i have an 8X8 place in the front for carriage and stuff.
With 2 doors on the side to allow carriage to be loaded from the side and 1 big
door in the back. Golf cart goes in the bed of the truck. The dividers are
removable in the back. And I can always put a carriage in the bed of the truck
and horses in the front of the trailer.

Also for when I go with a single I can put 1 horse and a carriage in the back
another carriage in the front and still bring a Golf Cart.<VBG> All of this
with a nice short trailer that I can get in and out of my yard.

I did not have ramps put on any of the openings. I personally don't like them
and I will always have ramps to load golf cart in the bed of the truck so they
can be used to load carriage. I will also have a winch in trailer.

As for why I don't like ramps they get in my way when I try and load and unload
horses hook and un-hook butt bars and dividers. Since I'm in a wheel chair I
can't get close enough with a ramp down and all horse trailer ramps are to
steep to roll up.<VBG>

The trailer will be delivered to me next week.!!! I had Silverado make it for
me. If anyone want's pictures I can email them.
