[drivingpairs] to shoe or not

It's nice to hear that some of you can let your horses go barefoot, I would
like to do that. However, with our hard packed roads with rocks on top, it
just isn't an option. When I was just riding horses, I had several that
went barefoot or were just shod in front, but then they were ridden in an
arena with good footing and out in the sandy desert. When I started driving
and started trotting down our hard packed dirt roads I had to put shoes on
every thing I drive, yep, even the ponies. My vet even wants me to have
pads on everybody so that is what I do most of the year. Since I drive all
year I only remove the pads at the height of summer (August - Sept) when we
don't work so hard, but keep the shoes on. Now I drive almost daily so that
is also a factor, if I were just taking them out now and then, I might be
able to let them go barefoot.
