[drivingpairs] Re: tandems?

Not sure about the "self carriage" thing, Nancy, and I am not sure that tandem
work carries over to singles. And tandem is so different than pairs I suspect
there is little crossover there, either.

When I am schooling my tandem ponies, I drive them single. Getting the leader
to
bend properly out there all by herself is difficult, and bending the wheeler is
complicated by the issue of having to hold her out for the start of the turn. I
haven't found the right technique for half halts on the wheeler without
upsetting
the leader, and vice versa. I have more trouble with the reins turning right
than
left, and of course, right is their bad direction. Wouldn't you know it! <VBG>

Ahhh, the joys of tandem driving.......... But when it goes right, it feels SOOO
good!!!!!!

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
And I STILL drive too fast to worry about cholesterol!
