[drivingpairs] Re: some people don't read and officials

To keep this post about pairs: I understand Gayle Stinson is starting a new
pony pair.

Ruthie, I understand your pain - $'s are definately a challenge. For the
first time ever, Fall Gladstone broke even. We begged, borrowed and stole
(well not really) but managed to get sponsorship for just about everything.
If you explore in your area, you may find a TD that will come for expenses
only and maybe someone or a group of someone's will sponsor the travel
expenses. Before you apply to be sanctioned, know all of your additional
expenses and requirements. $150 for the date, collecting an additional $10
from all competitors that are not ADS members - to be sent to the ADS at the
completion of the event. Getting your information together in time for the
ADS Omnibus (this is a life saver as far as not having the expense of
sending out prize lists is concerned). You just have to have all your
judges and TD in place by Sept. and April for the next Omnibus, depending on
when your show is scheduled.

On another note, Following is taken from the back of an ADS entry form,
which every competitor must sign. Ansly, I never said the rules had to be
memorized, I said the competitor should know them. In knowing, you have a
knowledge and are aware of how to reconfirm anything you feel hazy on.
Please read # 1 below. I rest my case.

" I hereby expressly agree for myself and my principals, representatives,
employees and agents: (1) to be bound by the rules and by-laws of the ADS
and any local rules of this competition; (2) that every horse, driver,
attendant, groom and/or passenger is eligible as entered; and (3) and to
accept as final any decision of the competition officials on any question
arising under the ADS rules and by-laws or any local rules of the
competition, and agree to hold the ADS, its officers, directors, employees
and agents, and competition judges, officials and organizing committee,
harmless for any action taken."

Regards to all,

Sharon Gorry
