I show minis and in the multiple hitches we all use breeching.   However, I 
do agree with you that breeching should be for singles also.   Its a fight that 
I have been doing since 1995 when I was counseled that "We are  not the 
American Driving Society".  so much more the pity.
 
But its coming.
