The pole was too heavy for just hang from the horses breast collars. My
pole is an aluminum telescoping pole and at the time I used a crab at the
end. Absolutely hated it. So I went to a steel swivel tongue with quick
release snaps. It swivels in every direction and stays pretty much right
up against the breast collar. I don't give it any room to move up and hit
the horse in the mouth. Works good for me.
