Karen Wilkin asks <> " wide welsh face, narrow muzzle, Any suggestions? Mouth
is 4.5".
---
Karen, I am faced with the same problem with my Welsh Ponies....... Narrow
muzzles that taper quickly into wide heads. I must bend out the tops of almost
all fixed cheek bits I use. I have generally used simple half cheek snaffles,
either mullen mouth or broken mouth and the swivel in the rings takes care of
the
problem.
The new pony (Welsh Sec C mare) that I am aiming to be my new tandem wheeler
seems more comfortable in a Glory with the butterfly cheek. Her mouth is 4.5"
but I am using a 4.75" bit and it is working well. The extra 1/4" seems to
give
enough clearance at the cheek bone, and it still rides comfortably in her mouth.
Hope this helps.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, because you are crunchy and taste good
with ketchup.
And I STILL drive too fast to worry about cholesterol!
