I worked many years for a professional shipper "Morrissey's". If shipping a
horse any distance it is the only way to go. They have air ride trailers
and often 2 drivers and an attendant that rides in the back. When shipping
with a big carrier, make sure they are ICC carriers and have all the
necessary insurance. there are a lot of boot leggers out there with out the
proper issuance etc. Some of these bad shippers will pick up your horse in
a gooseneck stock trailer and never stop to check your horse. If the horse
has value, make sure you have insurance on him. Where are you shipping your
horse to and from. It is a good idea to get a carrier that is in the area
of where you are shipping to and from. Let me know where you are and I will
get you some phone numbers. Morriessey's number is 800-441-9441. If they
can't help you they will refer you to other carriers that can. I hope this
helps you.
