i thought that hardy's idea for a slobber bar made out of hose was
great. i went to the hardware store with jh's myler liverpool in
hand and looked at my options. a 5/8" clear hose [less than 2' will
do 2 6" bits] was $.75 per foot. anyway, the hose slipped on the
bottom of the shanks just fine and made a very graceful curve from
one to the other. you might have to immerse the end in hot water to
get it to slip on but i didn't need to. i used the bit on john henry
yesterday afternoon and it was fine. i thought that because the bit
was made with only 2 slots that the hose might actually get in the
way of his mouth but even with his huge head that didn't happen.
thanks hardy for the great idea..... merry christmas everyone. it
was 45-50 degrees in upstate NY and very sunny yesterday ....... the
ski hills are not having a very good year so far...
