Well Nancy, we really never hibernate down here in Texas. We've been driving
the pair just about every day since Christmas getting ready for the Sunrise
Ridge Horse Trials on March 1. Well it is cold (low 40's) today, the weather
this weekend (clear bright sunshine, temps in the low 70's and low humidity)
was perfect for driving. I took the girls swimming Saturday morning and than
did some dressage work in the early evening. On Sunday we went to the
country (Independence, TX) and drove a 10 K loop at our marathon pace. The
girls came in with low T,P&R's and a quick recovery, we could have done
another 10 K so we are ready as far as the marathon section is concerned.
Janey (the newest member of the pair) still needs work on her relaxation so
the rest of this week will be spent walking (boring) and working Janey
single. I'll send in a report when we get back from Sunrise Ridge.
I used to live in northern Michigan but have lived in Texas for 14 years
now. I am more than willing to put up with the heat of the Texas summers
just so I do not have to deal with winter.
