hi marged,
i get a lot of comment about the mules when i take them out together as in the photo. actually, i have always broke a youngster by ponying when i ride and i just thought "why not" and started with agnes when i drove as well. i had to teach her to lead [at 2 when i got her in for training] by tying her to the gator and driving at a creep in the beginning all over the farm. she was actually dangerous for me to try to lead away from the other horses if i was on my feet. that, of course, is over now but she learned to follow a motor vehicle at a w/t/c and it was a natural progression to tie her to the back of my cart and now the mustang. 

i call it gator towing 101
