[drivingpairs] first event as a pair...

Recently participated in the Gladstone Clinic and driving trials....
the lessons were extremely valuable for me. As a first time for me driving
the pair at an event...my brain said YIKES when I initially walked the
hazards. Being able to school them on Saturday with Sem gave me the
confidence to maintain a smooth and steady pace through all the hazards.

Question: My one horse had some swelling behind the stifle area and
slightly lower. After looking at video and photos , it appears that the
trace could have rubbed him...(without seeing the pics I would have thought
it was too high for the trace to reach... we were also on an incline on the
turn) on a sharp turn to the right ( he was on the outside and falling
behind slightly) and it appears that the trace could have rubbed him at that
spot. Is this something to watch for? or can be avoided? I certainly
understand that you are always try to keep them pulling together and
especially in hazards keep them to the pole.

thanks for any input on this ..
      Cindy
