Clear DayA good way to curb the "let's hurry home" syndrome is to drive =
calmly past the gate when the horses seem to be in a hurry to get home. =
Ask them to slow down and walk. Turn around and come back toward =
home. If they rush again, ask them to slow down, and if they don't =
....go calmly past the gate again. If you get upset, it's like a =
"got'cha" to the horses. Stay calm, go slow and pass the gate. Be =
persistent....always. Slow is fast.
I have found that persistence speaks volumes instead of pulling and =
tugging. It will take a little more time, but it will work.
