My sectoin A Welsh prefer the welded traditional Roger rings, as it does
keep the lines from moving around those little ears too much, hadn't thought
of the problem of lifting cheek pieces. . . .but we've had more clever
problems with equipment. Our prefered method for gettin as new tandem going
is to trot down the road as much as possible to keep the leader moving on,
ring work seemed to give too much chance for drifted back into "assume your
pair position" ! ( Of course, very well schooled ponies to begin with.)
One day we were coming home from a hack, stoppped at the up hill stop at the
bottom of the hill, saw no traffic coiming, so I told them to walk on. My
wheeler started hopping like a mechanical horse, so I said whoa, couldn't
see anything, asked my groom if they saw anything. . .no, so we started
again, and so did the hopping. Turned out a leader trace had drooped and got
behind her armpit, so everytime the leader moved forward, he yanked her legs
out in front ! What a good girl to just hop and look indignant !(and Whoa)
