I too tried driving a pole with a 2 wheeled Easy Entry
cart with my pony sized donkeys. It was just too
heavy and I sold the pole. I didn't like the feeling
of the pole pointing down all the time no matter how I
tried to balanced the 2 wheeled cart. These Easy
Entry carts are really made for shafts.
I bought a wagon with a pole that hangs and even that
pole put too much weight on their necks because I used
a breast collar and not a more appropriate collar and
hames. So I solved the problem by making the pole
"fixed" so it wouldn't hang off the neck.
The pair of drafts that I drive in my draft horse club
are very strong and have no problem pulling a 2
wheeled forecart. Next the the elephant, draft
horses are the stongest land animals.
I love your explanations Hardy and the understanding
you have for the beginners trying out pairs.
