American Shetlands can be 46 inches or less. Foundation American Classic
Shetlands must be 42 inches or less to show in breed classes (these are more
typical of what one thinks of as a shetland - no outcrossing to other breeds
such as hackney or welsh for 5 generations back). To make this pairs
related, my pair is on hiatus until my soon-to-be Mama shetland has her foal
in May. I think she would bounce off the pole right now!
