hi everyone,
ok, here's my problem ....
you would think that teaching a young horse to drive with john henry
would be cake because jh is older [14] and really broke........ too
bad it's not completely correct! here's the story.
jh is a baby...EVERY woman in his life is his boss...or that's what
he thinks. so along comes agnes and she, as all women seem to do,
bosses him around. all she has to do is show him a set of angry ears
and he wants to vaporize from the spot while yelling "i'm guilty, i'm
sorry"!! agnes will go along when i am ponying her off of jh and
look for an opening to bite him in the chest, neck or legs. what
this amounts to is that he isn't the best teacher of a young horse.
he is more than ready to let her be boss. winkers help when we are
in harness because he can't see her antics.... not that she has done
anything really bad but she tries to be dominant when it occurs.
with jh under saddle she will try to put her head over his neck or do
the angry ears thing which makes him step away from her.... you get
the picture.
are there any training things i can do to help jh become dominate
over agnes or at least on an equal footing with her?
tally ho,
kathleen, john henry \ / & agnes \ /
