It's inappropriate on any list to refer to a breed as "dog ugly". Was the
horse a good driving
horse, safe, sane,
sound, easy to handle on the ground, well behaved on the roads, in traffic with
young
children, etc. If the
gentleman didn't want a STB all he had to do was flip his lip. Most STB's are
tattoed either on
the upper lip,
neck or haunches most TW's are not. Many Amish I have met prefer a Pacer
rather than a
Trotter for driving.
STB's are beautiful creatures not only in looks but in their incredible spirit
and their
willingness to give their all
in whatever they do. "Dog Ugly" does not fairly describe any STB I have met
and the phrase is
offensive to all of
us who truely love the breed.
