As Deryn posted this to the Pairs List too, let me also repeat my post from
CD-L here, as it really does concern pairs and teams moer than singles:
Be careful with driving a vehicle with delayed steering in the cones and also
in dressage! It's not really forbidden in the rules, but Article 2015.2.3
says "Dampers and locking devices on the turntable at the front of the
vehicle are not permitted in Competition A and C." Many vehicles with delayed
steering do have a damper on the fifth wheel to prevent fishtailing. If yours
does, at least make sure, that it's not set, but is turned off, if possible.
I would also turn off the delayed steering to be clearly above board (on
vehicles where you can turn it on and off). The reason for the rule in
dressage is that with a damper on the 5th wheel it's a lot easier to back-up
straight.
