[drivingpairs] Re: chewing on your partner

I did the exact same thing with my VSEs. A trailer tie between their bodies
(the kind with a little bungee in it) and a dog leash from the outside of
the youngster's bridle to his girth. We only needed it a few times and the
habit of nipping at his partner was broken.

Subject: [drivingpairs] chewing on your partner

Hi Merrie,

Have you tried a siderein-type gizmo on the outside of Rimfire? I used a
velcro trailer tie that was adjusted just right to keep my monster-sized
warmblood yearling colt from reaching over and chewing on my 25 year old,
and it was the perfect fix ... I attached the trailer tie to his halter
(he was wearing both halter and bridle), and then to a ring on his saddle,
on the opposite side from the 26 year old mare. So with two more velcro
trailer ties connecting the two harnesses at saddle and chest while we
ground drove, we actually accomplished something :) ...
