My, the list has been quiet. Hopefully everyone's out driving. We had a
perfect fall day today. The rain let up and we had a bright, beautiful,
sunny but very cold day. So I grabbed my daughter and
carriage-dog-in-training, Barney, demudded the ponies and we set off for a
lovely drive around the neighbourhood. The cool fall air certainly makes for
spunky ponies, but they were good as leaves zipped across the road in front
of them. Everyone seemed to be outside enjoying the day and we had lots of
waves, hi's, and "Oh, they're so cute!" That's what you get when your ponies
are 37" tall. I had forgotten how cold one can get on a carriage on a cold
day. Up until last week we were trying to avoid driving when it's too hot.
We froze! And I learned to always take my dog's coat along too, because he
was shivering off and on as he sat beside me on the driver's seat. We tried
a couple of times to put him in my daughter's coat with her, but he insisted
on being up front to survey the neighbourhood. Well he certainly had a good
time. He was leaning on his leash the whole way. The winter woolies are back
in full force, so we let the ponies walk a lot to avoid getting soaked, but
they weren't the least bit tired at the end of our drive. It was just a
perfect drive on a perfect day.
