[drivingpairs] Zilco Harness& bug spray??? Neem?? and stuff

Hi all,
What kind of bug spray is safe to use with Zilco or other similar harness? 
Will vinegar hurt it?

Has anyone heard of Neem oil or used it? We just got some for our garden and 
they make it for dogs and people.  It is supposed to really repel bugs.

We found out just how "green" they are.  Took them to a CDE just to see the 
sights while we volunteered a half a day.  We didn't even take a cart - just 
rode the one evening with no other horses close- the wind picked up  - a large 
flag popped - and my husbands pony took off - my husband stepped off and helped 
me hold my pony who was getting excited. The run away pony only went a little 
way and came right back to us - we moved a little way from the flag, 
remounted and rode on back to the barn.  We were lucky and learned a lot about 
how 
strange things can really scare a beginner.They both went off their feed while 
we 
were there but were right back to normal as soon as we got home. Looks like 
we will be going for some more sightseeing trips and volunteering for some 
time. They are a lot calmer at home but don't get out or see much new. I'm glad 
they weren't hitched expecially as a pair and have both take off.
