OK, Kathy, I think I get the "picture" of what you are using. How wide is
the breeching strap? Is it the same width for the whole length? Where does
it "end" under the horse, where the short straps start? Or, how far away
from the girth does the "wide" britching strap end?
We had a friend, down the road a couple of miles, that used this. He's been
gone for several years now, and I just don't remember exactly how it all fit
together. Thanks for sharing the details of your setup.
Don Hayes Keep driving!

Our Yankee Breeching is just a single long piece of
leather, with short straps on ends to buckle under
girth. We didn't want a lot of pieces, rings, buckles
flapping around horse barrel to snag on stuff. We are
moving faster, needing a clean, tighter harness fit on
CDE horses for hazard clearances, than slower moving,
farming Drafts require. Also cheaper for harness
maker to create breeching strap in pieces, uses up
leftovers, short parts.
