[drivingpairs] World Pairs update and where to be heard

The phone call for the Driving Committee is scheduled for Friday at 1. =

They are going to do both phone calls at the same time, the entire
committee will agree who has a conflict and who doesn't, then those that
have a conflict will hang up, and those that remain will vote. Will let
you all know as soon as I hear. This is not an open phone call, as it is=

the USET, not the USAEq, and the USET seems to only operate behind closed=

doors................... : ( which is something that I hope very much =
is
going to change. =

Here are the email addresses of those on the committee if you would like =
to
contact them and express your views about sending a team, and who you fee=
l
deserves to represent the US at the Worlds in France. =

I appologize if this is double information, as I am now posting 3
different places and don't think I have posted this here, but I may have
lost track. Early in the week there appeared to be a movement afoot to t=
ry
and keep Mike McLennan off the team, (the guy that has gone through hell=

from Texas and sold his land to pay his own way) and substitute David
Saunders, a buddy of the 4's. Problem is, David has never met the
requirements for International Competition, he never scored below a 60 i=
n
dressage. =

Here are the facts regarding scores:

The overall average, followed by the number of events they went to in ( )=

of the drivers were:

Lisa Singer 139.85 (8)
Mike McLennan 151.69 (6)
Larry Poulin 164. 94 (7)
David Saunders 166.77 (4) 3 selection trials. =

There are two requirements for International competition. An overall sco=
re
of 165 or less, and a dressage score of 60 or less. David applied to go =
to
Bromont in Canada, which was a selection trial and was denied because he
had not qualified for International Competition, He has never gotten a 60=

or less in dressage. (and apparently they kept his $75 application fee t=
o
boot LOL) His scores have been 145.4, 168.27, 158.9, and 194.54. His
dressage scores were 69.6, 63.5, 62.1 and 84. =

Now how can someone be appointed to a World Championship team, if they ar=
e
not qualified for international competition???????????

One of Larry's horses is not qualified because the marathon that Larry
drove with him, Larry drove a gate backwards, but the horse did the
marathon with no problems. It is my understanding he can get a waiver, =

and Jimmy even said on the tape recorded call on Monday, that it was no b=
ig
deal, so if he now tries to claim it is, they have that to back them up. =
