Milli Ann,
Do you remember science class when you rubbed a plastic rod with a piece =
of wool or sheep's skin and picked up all those pieces of paper with the =
static charge you created? I think the same thing is happening here. We=
get the same thing here in Prescott, AZ when cleaning up our little guys=
(we have mini's), for some driving activity. We bought one of the anima=
l vacuum cleaners a year or so ago and when the plastic nozzle comes in c=
ontact with their coats we have the same problem. I am going to try some=
thing next time we vacuum the horses. I use an "Anti Static Spray" from =
Radio Shack on my computer monitor to reduce the electrostatic charge on =
the face of the monitor, thereby reducing the amount of dust collected. =
My wife has used the Anti Static spray on some of her clothes to reduce s=
tatic cling. I wonder if it will reduce the static charge in the coats o=
f our horses??? Wife just walked through, check my spelling and english,=
and suggested something else. We have used the discarded Bounce softene=
r sheets out of the clothes drier to reduce cling and dust the face of ou=
r TV, it seems to help.
A word of caution with the blower or compressed air. We have used it suc=
cessfully BUT, be very careful if there are any cuts or abrasions in the =
animal's skin. It takes no time at all to cause terrible damage if we ge=
t forced air around a cut or wound.
Need to go to bed as we are off the practice with the drill team tomorrow=
=2E Looking to have 4 or 5 new people who have shown interest come and t=
ry out. We will be taking our 3 or 4 drivers, someone may not have one t=
o drive and maybe get some more drill team members.
Drive On!!
