I've started driving Angel and LovBug tandem. They
are doing very well considering I'm no expert. Angel
is my wheeler being that she is bigger, older and
stronger. LovBug is my leader since she is smaller,
loves to be in front and only 4 and I don't want to
stress her VSE bones.
They are doing well - I usually see Bug's ears between
Angels, so I know they are in draft. The traces have
some slack in them.
Angel is hard to "round". She has some conformation
issues like a short neck and high (but powerful) rump.
In order to get her to round, I have to do a LOT of
halt halts.
Bug is easier to round and hardly needs any half halts
to break at the poll and drop her head.
Is there any "tricks" to play more with the reins with
the wheeler than the leader?
