Hi Smith
Don't know of any charts on trace length. I think it is highly individualized.
On my setup, I have been told (by experts) that my traces were too short/too
long.
"I" think you need to have the horses a comfortable distance apart, and the
traces
should have a nice drop to them, without danger of hitting the ground or of the
wheeler stepping over the lead traces.
I probably keep my mares too close together, but I am competing in CDE's, where
a
compact, maneuverable unit is highly desirable.
Before you spend a lot of money one differing length traces, experiment with
rope,
or even lunge lines, until you get the right feel, and then take those
measurements to your harness maker.
BTW, typing in all caps is considered SHOUTING. Signatures are nice, too, so we
know which Smith we are conversing with! <VBG>
Good luck with the traces.

because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
And I STILL drive too fast to worry about cholesterol!
