As a result when pipes freeze, that's a lot of buckets to carry from the house.
AS a solution, hose a hose to the barn from your water heater....there is a
drain at the bottom that permits you to hook up a hose. You do this normally
to drain sediment and such.
If you are concerned about the sediment, let it run for a bit on the yard, then
take it to the barn.
The water will probably not be HOT at once....since it is drawing from the
bottom of the tank...in fact ours refills so that the water going out the hose
stays cool...at his point we are still in testing.
Yes, we have a frost-free hydrant...but it's not.
