[drivingpairs] Out Driving

Things really slow down around here when it is so hot, but we have been working
with my farrier's 3 year old Frisian stallion, hooking him up with Jen, the
wonderful, dependable big grey mule. We have driven him 4 times now. He trys
his stupid stallion tricks with her, but she just ignores him and goes on doing
what she knows she is supposed to do. We have used her to train a bunch of
horses to drive. I don't know what we will do when she gets too old. She is
about 20 now. It is a good thing that mules live longer than horses. I am
also waiting for a new pony mule pair harness from Camptown Harness. Dave is
fixing a couple of things that didn't fit right, so I haven't driven them much.
I also have been teaching a woman to drive her very nice percheron cross
mare, but that is a single, not a team. One of these days, I will get up the
nerve to drive my minis as a team, instead of single. I will post about that
when it happens.
