[drivingpairs] Our Grandson's first show

It finally happened last week.  Our six year old grandson, BJ,  has been
practicing with our miniature horses for many months so he could show at our
county fair.  He did very well in many classes but the one that he dreamed
of most was pair driving.  He drove the horses very well in both Youth
Pleasure Driving Pairs and Youth Precision Driving Pairs.  The smile on his
face told it all.  He was awarded two trophies.  His other Grandpa was so
proud of BJ that he went home that very night and built him a shelf to
display the trophies on.

BJ is already talking about practicing more this year so he can do better in
his other classes.  He participated in single driving pleasure and obstacle
classes, showmanship, halter and obstacle in hand.

His little 5 years old sister, Makayla , also showed at the fair with a
miniature horse.  She did very well in halter, showmanship, obstacle in hand
and costume.  She is already practicing driving a single horse and told us
she wants to compete in driving classes next year, also.

This brings such a warm feeling to Jim and my hearts to know that our
grandchildren share in our love for the horses.  Hope we can share in many
pleasure drives with these two grandchildren this coming year.

Oh, yes, we did compete in pair driving classes also, and won a few
trophies, too.  It was a great time for us all.
