> I have a very nice imported Holsteiner geld in training who is for sale.
Cori is 17.2hh, solid bay, 6 years old, and very good looking. You got it,
tall, dark, & handsome!
My equally handsome :), destined to be over 17 hands (just under 15.2
hands at one year, so likely 17.1), nicely boned, yet elegant bay yearling
Holsteiner Quissy ("kissy" -- Conquistador H, C-L-C-M breeding) is again
on the verge of selling (the breeder who wants him as a stallion is very
likely selling the mare she needs to make the down payment on him). But
if you're sitting here, in front of your computer screen, dreaming of a
pair of 17+ hand Holsteiner boys, one possibly a stallion for after you
win that Olympic gold medal :), here's your potential pair! Compete the 6
year old for now while training the yearling (who's going nicely paired
with a 15.3 hand 24 year old mare right now -- we're on the verge of
getting the guts to hook them up to the buggy long enough for pictures
;)). Save the $5K spent importing another gelding from abroad!
> This is a very nice horse with potential to do advanced CDEs.
If you get sick of driving :), this colt's relatives in every direction
have kicked serious butt in showjumping, and his mother events when her
owner isn't so busy :). My dressage trainer unsuccessfully tried to get
me to hand her over to her to compete solely in dressage. Their first
dressage show earned her Training Level Champion, all scores _just_ under
70 (including a 69), the third test in pouring rain, centerline through a
puddle -- comments included "lovely pair." His father got 1st in jumping,
and 2nd in dressage, out of almost 30 stallions for his 100 day test.
> He is a very big mover with springy gates (and gaits, I'm sure :))
They'll look incredible together. His mini movies give a taste of his
movement -- from a piaffe, to slowly climbing into the air at the trot in
the indoor arena, freelungeing a circle. He owes it all to his Arab
gelding buddy, Itsa Mister, cheering as he passes by -- see the web movie
;). Fully registered, he wasn't inspected for bonits, due to being born
August 6 -- foals have to be born before Aug 1. This year the closest
inspections are both 8.5 hrs away, so I'm hosting one October 2004, and
already have support from the largest local breeder. His potential
purchaser will have him inspected at her 2004 RPSI site. If he does well
there, she'll haul him to a (likely California) AHHA stallion site in
2005.
> and a wonderful, gentle disposition.
Why Quissy is still a stallion (though I'll tearfully geld on request).
Downright casual, at all times. Not that he doesn't like to show off!
See his pics. www.haremhills.com Foals Quissy
> He'll be in his first CDE at the Garlic Classic in Gilroy, CA next
weekend. Will have a video of his performance ready shortly
after the event.
Please post pics to the list, too!
> He has only been driven single (hard to hitch him next to
my welsh pony :-)), but is accepting of new experiences and would probably
go nicely in a pair or team.
Quissy knows no fear, and he's been tangling in the spiral water hose
(purposely) since birth, and waits to be untangled, though usually just
steps high and undoes himself. He happily crunches grass alone, with no
one in the yard with him. But once he is returned, and happily allows you
to remove his halter (ahh...), and sees his herd in the distance, it's
incredible to watch him rejoin them. Who needs a 100 acre spread in Texas?
;)
It's imperative that a pair be named in a compatible way, right? Go
Comet, go Cupid, go Cori and Quissy!
