[drivingpairs] Fuzzy Head Rubbing

You might try clipping the head and throatlatch area
of the heads. This will allow better cooling off,
perhaps preventing so much sweating. We had one who
just hated having the long hairs catch on things, was
constantly throwing her head around. Clipping her
made everyone much happier than the constant nagging.
We were not able to correct every single time or
prevent it. Who knew when she would get that one hair
caught and start shaking or rubbing??

Rubbing can turn into a habit that can drive you
nuts. Keep throatlatches tightened down to prevent
losing a bridle.

We used smaller clippers on the heads, and it did seem
to work pretty well. We still do some "shaping" on
winter heads, remove the long beard hairs, around the
ears and in the spring before they are slicked off.
Angle of clippers can prevent your skinning the poor
animal. We clip with the hair, where we want to leave
the short hair on.
