Jay, it's amazing how long it takes in retrospect to get a pair going if you
wait on the horses to tell you when they are ready. If we didn't ride and
drive single, they would probably have been going together much sooner.
Don't think they would be going as well, though. But that comes from a
single driver/rider. Just heard yesterday that Erin ended up state champion
at Training Level (ridden).
We have also driven these two in tandem once or twice. Keep saying we are
going to do more of that, but we don't get it done. Right now Paul is
working six ten-hour days. That pretty much takes care of his time. I
prefer to have someone around when driving a horse pair.
Out to feed now. We had a little freezing rain over night, but none of the
snow that was predicted. I envy you guys in California this time of year.
