[drivingpairs] Driving clinic this Sunday

Greetings all--

I am holding a driving clinic for my trail riding club this Sunday. Problem
is-- this past Sunday afternoon I lost my voice. Suddenly I developed a
sore throat (uh-oh) which rapidly progressed to laryngitis (normal sequence
of events for me). I have been unable to work all week, since my job is
answering emergency phone calls and talking on the police radio
(military).... so I HAVE managed to pick up the house a tiny bit.....

I am starting to regain a little bit of a rasping voice today (Friday).
Dave, I shall refer people to you if they are serious about stating their
horse driving.... no cheap (e.g. State Line tack!) harnesses are going to be
recommended by me.....

The last "driving clinic" the club had was by a guy who took up driving with
an Amish recycled jughead and Amish buggy with a cannibalized Amish light
mule harness..... he cautioned that the most dangerous phase of the breaking
process was putting on the blind bridle... and that you should ground drive
"three or four times before actually hitching to the buggy...".... oh my
god....... spectators LOVED how his "beautiful harness" made the guinea pig
National Show Horse look... I stayed silent, thinking how that elegant horse
was being insulted with the mule harness.....

I'll let you guys know how it goes.....

"My furs are not in storage or draped across the bed,
They're hanging from the cage door, waiting to be fed."

"Horses very rarely display the extreme strength that they are blessed with.
It is truly awesome when you see it. You want it pointed in the right
direction."

Anyone who would release an animal into the wild to fend for itself should
themselves be put out in the wilderness with no food or water. If they
survive, then they know how the animal feels. If they don't survive, then
they have improved the human gene pool....

Remember: STUPIDITY IS A SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE!
