Renie in Ramona, CA wrote the following and I'm facinated.
Hardy made a nice comment about my dressage field so I thought I share...
It's set up so we can drive it using 40 x 100 or 40 x 80. I use traffic cones
to
mark every 10m. I use two 2.5 inch, 20 foot PVC pipes at each end to mark
10m in giving us a great visual for the 80m marks. The cones set at 10m on the
ends mark the 100m. By having the pipes in off the sides about 5 to 6 meters
you can drive past them into your corner to use the 100m. No matter what test
you do the pipes don't get in the way. It really works well when you have
different drivers working at different levels. Hardy likes it because he can
have the Prelim drivers do a 5 loop serpentine for training on bending and
still
use the 80m for everything else.
I have a field that is big enough for the 40 x 100 but I have a problem
visualising the layout as discribed.
The current FEI single test has a double deviation (one handed) up the long
side. Dont the ploes get in the way of that?
Also the FEI multiple test goes from the corner to X.
Can you enlighten me?
Patti, Durham, England.
