I agree and use whatever the horses go best in. HOWEVER, Glory also makes a
Liverpool bit with the same mouthpiece as the butterfly. IMO it is a more
flexible bit because of the different ways you can set the reins. You can
have both horses in liverpools with different mouthpieces.
When one member of a pair wears, say, a broken mouth snaffle with big rings,
and the other wears some type of curb bit, say a liverpool, the snaffle
rings add length to the reins on that horse. Something to consider when
setting the reins. I had one horse going in a very flexible bit with a
synthetic mouthpiece and big loose rings. Gave her a LOT more rein. Had to
really shorten both reins to her.
