I wasn't leaving this list out, just didn't know if this message
would be ok. It is driving multiples related for anyone who has more
than one driving mare they want to breed LOL I've received a lot of
support and interest from the other lists already (Ponies-L and CD-L)
Here's the story. Mid 2002 I found out the hard way that Bell South
Yellow Pages left out our pony ride advertising. We depend on this
work to feed our horses and THE ONLY advertising that works is Yellow
Pages. I had done my part making sure copy and corrections were
correct. I assumed my ad was running. I was crazed making sure of all
details because Sprint had run my ad in the wrong place the previous
year causing us to loose roughly $10,000 in business. Gainesville
(Bell South territory) is a much stronger market for us so we made
enough to get by with just that ad place properly in 2001. Well new
books come out in March so I was looking forward to business in both
markets equalling about $23,000 or more for the year. That almost
doubles our household income working just weekends and clears our
horse expenses with ease. Confident this would happen (why the heck
wouldn't it??) we made purchases, built a barn etc.... Come about May
I realize I'm not hearing from Gainesville at all. Weird I think.
First I figure maybe Ocala is such a great market, we will be rolling
in the cash. Then I realize I've heard NOTHING from Gainesville. I
call to check on my ad. I am informed I have NO ad. After much
sobbing and screaming I come to terms with the fact that we might
just lose it all. Gainesville provides us in excess of $13,000 a year
in pony work. We struggled through until now. With hay needing to be
purchased and many unexpected expenses (well pump just died on us) we
now realize how close to the edge we are getting. We keep our horses
at a high level of care. They get shots, de wormer, hay, feed,
farrier and vet as needed without any restriction. I have never
sacrificed their care for our comfort. I don't want to start now.
Ok.. enough of the sob story, now what to do. Here is my offer.
We have two stallions.
1)Sec. D Welsh Cob, black 14hh also registered American Sport Pony
Registry (AWR) First Premium. He put stunning foals on the ground
last year (three of them 2 fillies one colt)both fillies were
inspected and also went first premium. One was an Arab/Cob cross the
other was Shetland/Cob. We are offering Comet at $300 to anyone
signing a contract and paying his stud fee in full by Feb. 1st 2003.
The breeding would be good for anytime in 2003. Live foal guarantee
and the works. This is our regular contract, full service at a $200
savings. Comet stands A.I. only and we are able to ship cooled semen.
2)Sec. A Welsh Mountain Pony. Black, 11.2hh LOTS of chrome. Stunning
disposition and very typey. We have not had him long enough to have
foals. He does have foals on the way at his previous home. He is
apparently very fertile. We intend to test his semen to be sure he
will keep in an equitainer. His introductory price was to be $300,
but we are offering him for $200 if contract is signed and fee paid
in full before Feb 1st 2003. Again, we intend to stand him A.I. only,
cooled shipped semen available, all particulars same as Comet.
If you would like to see the boys please go to our website and look
them up. Comet's foals are on both the sales page and the 2002 foal
page. Site is posted below my signature. Thanks for your patience
reading my story and considering this offer.
We are also taking offers on any of the horses on our sales page and
we have others for you to consider as well. Bargains to be had,
please try not to hurt us too badly with the offers. Most of them are
down to where we are losing money already, but we need the cash in
hand NOW. I would run out and get a job, but I already have a full
time work here taking care of one child and 29 horses all alone
(husband has other full time work). I'm desperately trying not to
"unload" the horses because that usually results in bad situations
for them.
Again thanks for your time,
Jodi in Morriston FL
