Jerry.
I don't know about others on the list.. But I was given six very well bred
lovely foundation shetlands just this year.. All the lines we have been
trying to acquire. ( one was actually a half brother to our stallion.. )
Five were in need of feed and care, and wilder than March hares.. LOL! and
one has "can't catch me " issues.. ( two different owners..) All move like
freight trains however..take your breath away movement.. and will be in
harness eventually.
Three stallions, and three mares.. One stud colt and his dam, match well
enough to consider a future pair..One filly... a lovely AMHR size arenosa
shetty/hackney cross.. Oh.. MY!
I sold one,as a gelding... and gave one stallion away to another home, as I
felt he was too nice to geld...
Don't get me wrong.. I would have willingly paid for any and all of these
ponies.. they are quite nice. Part of the reason they were offered, is that
I am trying to put together a small band of mares, as well as lesson, and
harness porspects..with arenosa/foundation lines.. So I was apparently
deemed a good home... And willing to put feed and time into them!
However,I am often offered free, or inexpensive horses, ponies, and minis..
I can pass the word along, on the next ones.. as I have no more room! On top
of these ponies..My mare WAS bred.. and foaled a lovely filly... ( we were
told she was OPEN.. LOL! ) So we went up by quite a few! Still no match for
the stallion either.. LOL!
