[drivingpairs] Brass Bits

I have heard that brass is too soft and therefore the bits aren't safe.  I
have personally seen a brass bit that broke during an extreme accident.  The
horse freaked out first time it was hitched to a vehicle.  Had been pulling
a stone boat (skid) with no problem.  It may have been the ring that broke
(where the rein fastens).  I saw the bit, but my memory fails me.
