Hi Marjean, not sure that I should be the one to respond , but as I have had
exactly the same problem: My older mare (aka the shark)  would reach over
snap at her pair mate all the time.  I had read The Duke of Edinburgh's book
& he had a section on anti-nagging lines - so thats what I did - piece of
bailing twine from the outside terret to the bit, loose, but tight enough do
that if she would be stopped before she could turn too far to the inside. I
used it all last summer, but havent had to since. She will still turn & snap
on the rare occasion, but it is no longer a habit.    I'm not sure that is
the best answer, but is one, anyway.  Nancy in NH
