Ahhh Weeties - always on the kitchen table in my toddlerhood.
I was three when I realised those markings on the packet actually meant
something. I taught myself to read off the back of a Weeties packet.
I asked Mum what they meant, I learned that each letter was a different
sound and so I learned. It helped that Mum had been a 'Monitor' (trainee
teacher) before the war started. Apparently I was 3 1/2 when I read
everything on it by myself. No wonder I got bored at school :)
