[dolphinaudio-beta] EaseReader 2.01 Beta 2 available for testing

Hello EaseReader Beta Testers,

Following various feedback on the EaseReader 1.10 beta 1, Dolphin Audio
Publishing have now developed a new beta of EaseReader, we have decided
that the version of EaseReader will be changed to 2.01 thus we now have
an EaseReader 2.01 beta 2 available for testing.   This is available
from a Dolphin Audio Publishing beta secure FTP.  If you would like a CD
ROM instead of downloading from the web site then please email
betacontrol@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx as soon as possible with your request. 

To download from the EaseReader 2.01 beta 2 from the area you will need
to do the following:

1. Go to the FTP site ftp:193.195.96.147/ftp/easereader201b2
2. Login with -
Username = dolaudiobeta
Password = Warb37Ler
3. Locate the file named ER3201B2.exe and download this file.


To install the EaseReader 2.01 beta 2:

1. Run this self extractor ER3201B2.exe, this will extract the contents
of the zip file to a folder.
2. From the installation folder created in step 1 (by default this will
be C:\Temp\EaseReader201Beta2), run the MasterSetup.Exe.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Please be aware that the EaseReader 2.01 beta 2 will overwrite any
existing full versions of EaseReader you have installed.

The attached document details the type of testing of the beta that we
would like.  The following are the details of what's has changed from
EaseReader 1.10 beta 1 to version 2.01 beta 2 and any known issues:

**** Release Notes for EaseReader 2.01 beta 2 ****
(a) Changes from previous beta:
1. Possible to limited sort and order of bookmarks.  
2. Extended information in bookmark list e.g. if bookmark contain audio
note and text note. 
3. If a DAISY or NISO book is entered in the CD-station while ER is
loaded the user will be asked if he/she wants to open this book
automatically. 
4. Possible to navigate to next/previous line of text in the "About"
dialog using cursor down/up. 
5. Producer defined stops (no support for this in any producer tools
yet)
6. Full support for multi volume NISO books. 
7. Includes SAM 2.03.
8. Includes Orpheus 2.01.

(b) Known issues:
1. Button added to reset default values for settings in Preferences.
2. Bookmarks set in one book will appear in other books with exactly the
same title.
3. If setting bookmarks in text only books the bookmark is valid for the
whole heading where it is positioned, not only for the phrase it is
positioned to. 
4. Problem to navigate to bookmarks made in text only book if opening
the same book in full text audio format later. Bookmarks are present but
not possible to navigate.
5. If reading a multi volume book, navigates outside current volume,
choosing the same value again "by mistake" and then the correct volume
you will end up on wrong position.
6. If you are using ER in remote control mode and activates key
description mode it will perform some of the commands instead of reading
them.
7. Help file is not updated.

We would like you to test the EaseReader 1.10 beta 1 with e-books of
your own.  However, if you require some e-books to test with EaseReader
1.10 Beta 1, you will find 2 books that have been made available in the
Dolphin Audio Publishing beta secure FTP.  To download and install the
books:

1. Go to the FTP site ftp:193.19596.147/ftp/easereader201b2
2. Login with -
Username = dolaudiobeta
Password = Warb37Ler
3. Locate the folder "ebooks", in here you will find 2 self extracting
zip files containing the books "Myths And Legends Of The Sioux"
(MythsAndLegendsOfTheSiuox.exe 274Mb) by Mrs Marie L McLaughlin and
"Three Men in a Boat" (ThreeMenInABoat.exe 370Mb) by Jerome K. Jerome.
Download the books you require.
4. To install the books to your PC you will need to just run the EXE and
follow the on screen instructions (by default the books will be
installed to sub-folders of C:\DaisyBooks).  
5. Once installed you will find folders for the various different types
of book:

Myths And Legends Of The Sioux:
- Contain pages and one foot note.
- AudioFullText (DAISY 2.02, MS SAPI 5 Mary 22 KHz compressed to MP3 48
Kbps 22 KHz).
- AudioNCC (DAISY 2.02, no text, MS SAPI 5 Mary 22 KHz compressed to MP3
48 Kbps 22 KHz).
- TextNCC (DAISY 2.02, no audio).
- TextPartAudio (DAISY 2.02, every second heading has no audio, MS SAPI
5 Mary 22 KHz compressed to MP3 48 Kbps 22 KHz).
- AudioNCX (NISO, no text, MS SAPI 5 Mary 22 KHz compressed to MP3 48
Kbps 22 KHz).
 
Three Men in a Boat:
- Contain pages and one foot note.
- AudioFullText (DAISY 2.02, MS SAPI 4 Mike 22 KHz compressed to MP3 48
Kbps 22 KHz).
- AudioNCC (DAISY 2.02, no text, MS SAPI 4 Mike 22 KHz compressed to MP3
48 Kbps 22 KHz).
- TextNCC (DAISY 2.02, no audio).
- TextPartAudio (DAISY 2.02, every second heading has no audio, MS SAPI
4 Mike 22 KHz compressed to MP3 48 Kbps 22 KHz).


If you discover any bugs/issues with the beta 1 please report these via
the "Bris" on-line bug reporting system, the link to this is -
http://www.labyrinten.se/bris to log into the system use the Login Name
and password that were supplied to you in a previous email.  For full
details of how to report a bug read the section titled "8. Using the
Online "Bris" Bug Reporting Facility For Deviation
