Edit conf/msg and turn the 7 on the first line to 8. This way you
will know when the next release (or next RC if there is one) is
available but bypass the first release candidate notice.
You can also disable update notices by setting $conf['updatecheck']
to 0 in your conf/local.php file, but doing so you will miss all
update notices, which I would not recommend.
