one of the reasons I like DokuWiki and prefer it over all other wikis
is its feature to process common ASCII files. Since I just started my
private Wiki "at home", I really like to do a lot of editing work by
the help of 'vim' and 'sh'/'sed' since it's faster for me to get a
"huge set" of pages up.
I assume the timeouts were caused by the first rendering thereafter.
The reason for my assumption steams from the fact that after the
pages were updated in the '.cache' directory no problems have been
experienced.
A wiki, of course, is not intended to be edited like that -- although
I really appreciate this feature. Is there any way I can create the
caches 'off-line'? Any tool? This would avoid this kind of
problems for me after a new set of pages edited via the backdoor.

Well, this "nice" machine is very old but has been running reliable
for years. But for the first time I have considered strongly upgrading
the box completely..... ;-)
