[dokuwiki] template name

hi,
i've just upgaded DW and I see that in new version names template
containing dot (ex: toto.fr) are not recognized any more... :-(
Is it a wanted evolution ?
I have a dokuwiki farm with 60 wikis and if i have to change template
names and all wiki configurations, it will not be cool and easy for me...
