ok....let's assume for a moment that I am a complete idiot and didn't
understand a word of what you just said...and let's also assume that I
only have a rudimentary understanding of CSS (kinda like the french I
took 20 years ago).  Walk me through an example or point me to the docs,
please.  I'd prefer not to disable any other features of dokuwiki but
really need this to work. 

How is it handling the other languages?...that might be the best place
to start.   I've looked around a bit in the code to no avail...I'm
certain that I am looking in the wrong places if it exists.  I'll
continue poking around in the meantime.
