Happily the hardware seems to be okay for now and splitbrain is up again. 
Thanks to Peer Heinlein from JPBerlin.de who took the time to drive to the 
server center and did a reset. The scary thing is that I still don't know what 
caused the problem. Let's hope it holds ;-)
